A few straight answers.

What is Tailwinds Finance?

Tailwinds Finance is my fractional CFO practice for founder-led SaaS, technology and professional services companies from about $2M in revenue. I'm Rodrigo Velasquez, based in Greater Cleveland, and I work with founders anywhere in the US, remotely. Retainers start from $3k a month.

What happens on the call?

It's 30 minutes on Google Meet, with me, and it's free. Bring the decision you're stuck on. The booking form asks what you'd like to cover, so the half hour goes to it.

Which retainer fits my company?

Mostly your revenue and how often you need to decide together: Starter from about $2M, Growth from $3M to $8M, Executive from $8M and above. Executive pricing scales with entities, complexity and scope.

What are the terms on a retainer?

Every retainer has a 3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice to end it.

Is bookkeeping part of the retainer?

Bookkeeping isn't part of the retainer. If your books need attention, we scope it as a separate project with a bookkeeper we trust.

Do you help reduce cloud costs?

Yes. I spent years managing cloud budgets in corporate finance. For SaaS and technology companies, the Cloud Cost Review ($2,500, about two weeks) shows where your AWS, GCP or Azure spend can come down and where it shouldn't, based on your stage, such as short-lived R&D environments versus production workloads stable enough to commit to. Your engineers make the changes. The fee is credited if you move into a project or retainer within 30–60 days. Ongoing Cloud FinOps is included in Executive.

We're closer to $1M. Is there a way in?

Yes. Start with one of the seven one-time projects, from $2.5k to $12.5k. It's a real piece of work on its own, and a way to see how I think before you commit to a retainer.

Do you work with my CPA?

Yes. Every retainer includes tax coordination with your CPA: foundational alignment on Starter, year-round tax strategy on Growth, and integrated tax and corporate strategy on Executive.

Do you only work with companies in Ohio?

No. I'm based in Greater Cleveland and work with clients remotely, anywhere in the US.

Why only four or five clients?

A fractional CFO is only useful if they know your business well enough to disagree with you before you decide. Each member of the Tailwinds team carries four or five clients, so the person leading your work always knows your business. As we add people, we add capacity. The standard stays the same.

Bring the decision you're stuck on.
